The back of the plate is designed to be easy to hold with concentric bumps. It is made of very thick porcelain that will resist breakage even with rough handling. The edges and the inner side are also rounded for easy washing. This item uses glaze that was originally used for Japanese tableware.

’’HASAMI" is a brand by Maruhiro Ltd., a ceramics manufacturer known for designing tableware and interior items in the Hasami-yaki style, which is a Nagasaki Prefecture craft with over 400 years of history.
Because the town of Hasami in Nagasaki had long been a production site for outsourced Arita-yaki, it was not well known.
Mass production is considered to be a strength of Hasami-yaki, as they have a divided system where work is ordered separately in different areas: mold making, molding, glazing, and kiln firing.
Thus, advanced craftsmanship and efficient production systems have been developed in each field.
The "HASAMI" brand transcends the boundaries of the division of labor, and the porcelain "tools" that it produces are the pride of its land.
They are made to be used, used often, and then worn out. The manufacturer hopes to create such beloved "tools" with mysterious qualities that cannot be expressed in words.
