HASAMI Chopsticks
Clever Details Behind a Simple Appearance
These chopsticks are the result of a collaboration between Hasami-ware manufacturer Maruhiro and Chopstick Store Matsukan, a renowned chopstick manufacturer established in 1922 in Obama City, Fukui Prefecture. When you have a meal that requires chopsticks, this item can be arranged perfectly with other HASAMI series tableware.
The length of the chopsticks is 22.5 cm (approx. 8.9 inches), which is the average length for chopsticks in Japan.
Like other HASAMI items, the design is minimalistically simple and bumpy, but there are details that have been deliberately thought out by the manufacturer. While the chopsticks have a hexagonal shape to help you hold them naturally, the edges of the corners are not too sharp to bring out the texture of the glaze. They are made to be not too thin and have a good amount of thickness, which makes them easy to use because of the stability they provide.
The tips of the chopsticks are also coated with white lacquer to bring out the texture. An anti-slip treatment has been applied to 2 cm of the tip, making it easy to eat noodles.
